In week 11 the baby is officially described as foetus. Development continues. Foetal movement first felt – You can feel the movements of the baby around as early as in week 16, although we can see him/her on the scan moving his/her head in week10. Duration of pregnancy – The pregnancy is considered full- term at week 36-40. In the last weeks, before the birth, the baby prepares and turns with his/her head down into the pelvis. Scans – An ultrasound scan is done in the first trimestre in order to confirm that the baby is developing well, check the basic anatomy and whether the heart is beating. (6.1) B.
