It was quite recently when I heard somebody telling a story which reminded me of home. It was about families and road trips, and time, and waiting, and the beginning and the end of the journey. So, there was that family who started their long, long road trip and there were the kids at the back seat excited about the destination, and already a bit tired from the journey, and longing to know the answer... "Have we arrived yet?!"
Words that resinate with expectation, wonder, bewilderment, despair, hope and trust...
I remember, when I was a child, my father used to take us hiking in the mountains and we used to ask him a similar question "When are we getting there?". Then he would focus and would point at the peak and say "Can you see the peak now, it is not too far, we are almost there..." The minute we get there, we forget about the long, long, long way we have to go. We are there, enjoying the amazingly beautiful view!
We go on a different types of journeys expecting to get to a place where we would find comfort, and peace, and joy, and delight, and happiness...There would be always something nice awaiting for us.
The journey.
